Support Music Education in New York City

New York City is one of the greatest music cities in the world — and thousands of its young people have almost no access to the music education that could change their lives. School arts programs have been cut. Private lessons are out of reach for most families. Youth ensemble opportunities are rare. Sexton Arts is here to close that gap. We are a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Calvin Sexton — a professional jazz musician and certified educator with over 20 years of experience teaching and performing in New York City. We offer music lessons, youth ensemble training, and community performances for young people ages 10–18, regardless of their background or their family's income. We are young, honest about that, and building carefully. Every dollar raised right now goes directly to student access — subsidizing tuition, paying teaching artists, funding rehearsal space, and producing the community concerts that give students a real audience. Your gift is tax-deductible. Your support is how this work becomes real. Sexton Arts | 501(c)(3) Nonprofit | EIN: 41-3751319 | sextonarts.org

Where Your Gift Goes

Every dollar raised goes directly to the work of building music education access:

Tuition support — so students can participate regardless of their family's ability to pay

Teaching artist fees — so the professional musicians who lead our programs are paid equitably for their skill and dedication

Rehearsal space — so ensembles and lessons have a consistent, professional home

Community concert production — so students perform for real audiences and communities experience live music

Organizational support — so Sexton Arts can grow the infrastructure needed to serve more students over time

Why Now

We are young, honest about that, and building carefully. Every gift at this stage has an outsized impact — it's the difference between a program launching and a program waiting.

Your support right now helps us pay our first teaching artists, open enrollment for our first students, secure rehearsal space for our first ensemble season, and produce our first community concerts.

This is a moment when your gift doesn't just support the work — it makes the work possible.
